How to upgrade from Official's Replay to Coach's & Official's Replay, Shared

Here is a step by step guide for upgrading your current official's review equipment to to include home and visitor coach's access.

PLEASE follow the steps below with the help of one of our technician's via zoom. 

  1. Visit this training page to schedule a time that is best for you.
  2. NOTE: this entire process may take up to 2 hours to update, verify, and train

We will update and replace parts of your current system, set up the new configuration, and test the new setup during the meeting.

 

You will need:

  • Your current SkyCoach kit in it's entirety
  • Your cameras
  • All iPads you plan to use (although this process can be completed with only one)
  • A large testing room
  • 6 power outlets split into 4 stations: 2, 2, 1, 1

 

Open your package and lay everything out on a table. These are the items you should have received.

  1. Update Skycoach on your iPads and download the latest RCK update
    1. Connect to the internet, download the latest SkyCoach app version
      1. Go to the app store and select update (the version should be at minimum 16.1) Sometimes the iPad will prompt you to update

    2. Connect to the internet, download the latest RCK update [on ONE of your ipads]
      1. Go to SkyCoach -> Settings -> Host/RCK Update (you should see a pop up that says "downloading updates" or you can select "Check For Updates" in the top right corner)

  2. Relabel components: toolboxes and antennas
    1. BOTH TOOLBOXES
      1. The top toolbox labeled "Review XXXXX" will now be the "Host Box XXXXX"
        1. Place the QR sticker inside the lid
      2. The bottom toolbox labeled "Camera Stations XXXXX" will now be the "Station Box XXXXX"
    2. ALL 4 BRIDGE ANTENNAS
      1. The round Red/Black antenna labeled "Review, Point at PressBox" OR "Review, Point at Cam1" will now be "PressBox, Point @ HomeSL"
      2. The round Red/White antenna labeled "Review, Point at EndZone"  OR "Review, Point at Cam2" will now be "PressBox, Point @ EndZone"
      3. The round Red/Black antenna labeled "PressBox, Point at Review Station" OR "Camera 1, Point at Review Station" will now be "Home Sideline, Point @ PressBox"
      4. The round Red/White antenna labeled "EndZone, Point at Review Station" OR "Camera 2, Point at Review Station" will now be "EndZone, Point @ PressBox"
  3. Reconnect all components as new configuration: bridge antennas, wifi antennas, power supplies
    1. IN THE HOST BOX:
      1. Add a third white poe injector to the host box (use the one with the 1' and 10' ethernets already attached)
        1. Use extension cube 
        2. Connect the lan port on injector to any port on the router with the 1' ethernet
        3. Connect the red poe port on injector to the main port on the round Red/White/Black antenna labeled "PressBox, Point @ VisitorSL" with the 10' ethernet labeled Antenna Only
      2. Add the yellow switch to the top of the router
        1. Move the power from the bottom router to the top switch
        2. Connect port 2 on the yellow switch to port 1 on the bottom router
      3. Replace the old host "small black computer" with the new host that looks just like it
      4. Connect the skinny "bunny ear" coachbox antennas to their respective round antennas
        1. Use the long ethernet cable to connect the LAN2 port on the round antenna to the skinny bunny ear antenna.
          1. Home CoachBox, SCH-CoachBox-XXXXX connects to the round Red/Black labeled "PressBox, Point @ HomeSL"
          2. Visitor CoachBox, SCV-CoachBox-XXXXX connects to the round Red/White/Black labeled "PressBox, Point @ VisitorSL"

    2. IN THE STATION BOX:
      1. Reconnect the end zone station

      2. Reconnect the sideline stations

      3. Use this diagram as a reference

  4. Update the Remote Camera Kits (RCKs) 
    1. You can connect all of your RCKs at the host box for this step 
    2. Connect your iPad to the SC-WiFi to push the latest RCK version to the host
    3. Use the RCK to pull the latest update from the host
  5. Test the equipment in a large room. It will be ideal to be able to spread out to set up the 4 stations.
      1. Setup network - host box lights, 4 blue lock lights
      2. Cameras connected - 4 green checks
      3. 3 iPad rules -
        1. connect to one wifi at a time, the one you are closest to
        2. join the event before recording begins, especially after halftime
        3. do not lock/close iPad or switch apps
      4. Status screen - check for connected devices
