What are lookups?
The Lookups feature allows teams to preload custom lists of formations, personnel groupings, and play names on individual iPads. These lists provide quick reference options during play filtering and editing, eliminating the need to type frequently used terms.

Using Lookups During Games
Input Control Options

- Alternatively, click in the text area to type manually
- Selected values populate the text field as if typed
Behavior Differences
- Filter screens: Manual typing does not add new values to lookup lists
- Edit play screens: Manual typing automatically adds new values to the lookup lists
Important Considerations
iPad-Specific Lists Lookup lists are stored locally on each iPad rather than shared across the team. This design accommodates different coaching perspectives where offensive and defensive coordinators may use different terminology to describe the same concepts.
Text Implementation Selected lookup values function as text rather than linked references. Once a value is used in play data, updating the lookup list does not change previously entered data on plays.
System Requirements
The Lookups feature requires SkyCoach version 18.0.1 or later on iPads. iPads can be updated through the App Store.
Sample Files
Example text and CSV files for each lookup category are provided in the SkyCoach import directory. These files can be modified for direct import or used as formatting references.
Examples:
Tip: Start with the provided sample files to understand the proper format before creating custom import files
Caution: Clearing all lookups removes all custom entries and cannot be undone. Consider exporting current lists before performing this action
